Panasonic SC-PT954 Wireless Home Theater Speaker System
One of the most popular wireless speaker home theater system is the Panasonic SC-PT954 system. It works at 900W and is shipped with a Kelton Subwoofer system. The speakers are mounted on rigid bamboo case, providing a high quality sound. The speakers are Tall Boy type and therefore do not require any wall mounts. The system has a 1080p up-conversion feature. The audio-video receiver can convert the standard definition (720 x 480 pixels) images from various DVD sources to high definition (1920 x 1080 pixels) images. Another plus point that the system is very easy to setup and can be used with ease even by people with limited technical knowledge.
The term ‘wireless home theater’ is generally a misnomer since most of the modules in any wireless home theater speaker systems are still connected using wires. Only the rear speakers have a wireless connection. These speakers are connected to an amplifier, which has a wireless link with the audio-video receiver.
Panasonic SC-PT954 is a good value for money at below $300 as the rear speakers and the woofer system does produce a wonderful surround sound experience. Moreover, the wireless surround sound system do reduce the wire clutter up to a certain extent. The built in universal iPod dock increases the usability of the complete system.
LG DA-W5100 Wireless Home Theater Speaker System
This home theater system also comes in the category where only the rear speakers are connected with the wireless link. Some Wireless systems, typically from Sony have the rear speakers connected together with a wire as only one of the speakers is connected to the wall socket for power. However, the LG DA-W5100 does not have a wired connection between the two rear end speakers and each speaker is independently connected to the wall socket for power.
Even when the rear speakers are easy to setup and do reduce the wire clutter, this wireless system does have a price on the higher side. A lot of other systems would provide better performance with less cost.
