Never before had I been picky when it came to buying a printer. I only ever printed off one or two pages at a time, my camera was an SLR which meant I had to go to the local developer to get my photos from film (‘what’s that?’, I hear the young ones cry – try a history lesson using Google), then my cartridges would run dry and it would cost me a fortune to replace them for only a couple more documents.

What changed my perspective on this was when my lovely wife bought me a new digital camera a few years back and I was hooked. Everywhere I went I would be taking snapshots of anything that caught my eye. I loved the fact that I could delete as I went along and move on to my next victim.

Then the problem struck. I would have to ‘develop’ my own pictures. The old printer sitting under my sideboard simply did not give the photos the justice they deserved so I had to think about my next printer. You see, my wife loves photos (she should have bought the camera for herself) so grainy images were of no use.

The other issue I had was that I required something that would last. You must have photographs sitting around in a cupboard that one day will see the light and you will ask questions like ‘Did I leave the house wearing that?’, and, ‘Why did my mum and dad make me get that haircut?’. I did not want to print pictures that would fade over time and be rendered useless in my old age even I will be myself.

After much deliberation and headaches I decided that a Canon Printer would suit me down to the ground. Most printers these days can boast massive DPI for all your images but Canon came up with a new innovation called ChromoLife 100+.

This technology combines the use of very fine nozzles to create non-granular images and dye based ink to reflect light and gases thus helping to protect your memories on paper. Ideally printed on Canon photo quality paper and you have a prize possession that will be with you for a long time to come.

The Canon PIXMA MP990 is a fine example of a printer that meets all of my requirements but why not head over to Wireless Printer Info to see what other people are saying about this product? You could also see what excellent deals you could pick up today!
